JUST ANOTHER RANDOM DAY IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD…

What started out as a sleepless EARLY morning, that led to early morning shaving, 4am shower, sleep till 10AM, head to class and then hit the gym turned into one heck of a day, i must say. I skipped the gym and decided to do lunch…in Manhattan. But first I had to stop for gas $20 bucks down (so far). Starting out from exit 62 on the LIE to exit 17 to the BQE i met up with a friend for Chipotle. After that I met up with Big Spanish where he showed me pics from the Biggie movie set for his shoot today (expect Miss Info to post them up tomorrow), chatted a bit stopped at “Out the Kitchen” bakery on hudson street for some cupcake(s) (ex-fatass move i was on a roll today!) then bounced back to the ‘burbs. Sitting in traffic, tank on E I get a text from “The Future” (aka DJ Kast One) “Estelle show, you in? I’m on the ones and threes”, i quickly replied “I’m there!” Turned right around and filled up my tank with another $60, and was on the road once again, well i pretty much was on all day. In attendance John Legend, Kardinal Offishall, Rah Digga, Travis from Gym Class Heros, Lyor Cohen was spotted, Sam Crespo (shouts to you!), Anthony Anderson, and plenty of beautiful ladies (I seen you, seeing me lol So here are some lazy man pics and videos from the concert. With rising gas prices to 4.09 in my area and being forced to fill up 3 times a week on the “good shit” aka 93 octane I will just spend hours coming up with different color-ways of “sneakers i would get if i didn’t spend it on buying gas instead”. Man when gas was like 3′ bucks for that good stuff i used to be at 255 Liz-bet street stocking up on those little black binders of shoes. How times have changed. I managed to get 4 copies out of my cousin’s trunk (i have 2 still sealed somewhere) during a time when I would beast over any Promo’s my cousin would bring home from his intern days at Elektra Records or on the run with Enuff, so the fact that it still stirs up the scent of screen-printed tee’s that this tape deserves to be called a classic.

My longest post ever, since we are taking a stroll down memory lane, DJ KAZ, a member of my record pool sent over a picture of a DJ Enuff Japan Tour flyer from 2000. In this flyer aside from the young ass picture of Enuff, it is autographed by the lucky HItters that were able to hold down Enuff on this tour. One of which was my cousin, DJ Threat who is the Co-Founder of the Heavy Hitters. The crazy part about this autograph was that as a fan of my cousin and his accomplishments, I had never seen his ‘autograph’ and to see it almost 7 years since his death, 8 years after the fact (tour), from one of the dj’s in my record pool (a post i hold down that im sure he’s very proud of) adds that much more value to this image for me. Just thought id share with my reader(s). lol

Pictures taken From Don C’s Blog Apparently they make really great show accessories aswell. What started out as a gift from Nigo a one of a kind/very limited Bape camo barber cape given to Ibn Jasper hair stylist/skateboard extraordinaire became part of Kanye’s Show wardrobe. This is is straight a-hole shit. Like someone backstage chimed in “Yo ‘Ye you should wear that on stage!” and to which he replied “Oh you think i won’t!” Lol comedy!

…With two irrelevant hits behind them JD and Jay-z join up again with ‘The-Older-Woman-Wifer-Usher’ and Anthony Hamilton to record 2 new records (1.5 but one is missing a bridge, as Jay points out in the vid. My thoughts on this is I’ve never really been a fan of Jay/JD combo, to tell you the truth i could NOT stand Money Ain’t a Thang (but i know the verses/chrous/adlibs by heart, only because thats the type of fan i am), Furthermore Fallin’ lyrically is a stand out track, but instrumentally highly annoying regardless if JD produced it or not. So I’m not all that confident about this being a Smash in my book, but it surely is something to be seen with all that Star-power in ONE room. Stay tuned…

What started out as a great show, with signs of taking the Juan Epstein brand to the next level and possibly a reality show (which i applaud on every level of getting situated as the great comedic show it is). Kicking off the show as they normally do at ‘1 volume.’ Cipha speaks on a book by Robert Shemin “How come That Idiots Rich and I’m Not” which sounds pretty interesting. “You’ve gotta give to get!” which lead to a salad bowl of homophobic/racially challenging of Peter’s humor. Take a listen as PR corners HIMSELF in between a rock and a hard place (ayyoooo!). My rating B-, Last weeks show gets an A (don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast)
